Sending Messages

The Send tab is where you compose and deliver messages to your congregation. You can send SMS text messages, emails, or audio call messages to everyone or a specific group.

Note: Only App Admin users can send communications.

Selecting a Channel

Before composing your message, select the communication channel:

  • SMS — Text message delivered to members' phone numbers
  • Email — Email delivered to members' email addresses
  • Audio Call — Recorded voice message delivered as a phone call

Tap the channel option to select it. The compose area will update based on the channel you choose.

Composing an SMS

  1. Select SMS as your channel.
  2. Type your message in the text field.
  3. A character and segment counter is displayed below the message field. Each SMS segment is approximately 160 characters. Longer messages are split into multiple segments.

Note: Members who have opted out of SMS will be automatically skipped and will not receive the message.

Composing an Email

  1. Select Email as your channel.
  2. Enter a subject line for the email.
  3. Compose the email body in the message field.

Emails are sent from noreply@churchnet.app.

Recording an Audio Call

  1. Select Audio Call as your channel.
  2. Tap the record button to record your voice message directly in the app.
  3. Review the recording before proceeding.

The recorded message is uploaded and delivered as a phone call to each recipient.

Choosing an Audience

After composing your message, select who should receive it:

  • Everyone — Sends to all members in your church directory
  • A specific group — Select a Communication Group from the dropdown

The dropdown displays the member count next to each group name so you know how many people will receive the message.

Preview and Confirm

Before sending, a preview screen shows:

  • The channel (SMS, Email, or Audio Call)
  • The audience (Everyone or the selected group)
  • The recipient count
  • A message preview

Review the details carefully, then tap Send to confirm. A confirmation dialog will appear to verify you want to proceed.

After Sending

Once confirmed, the message enters a processing queue and is delivered in the background. You do not need to keep the app open.

The campaign status updates automatically:

  • Pending — Queued and waiting to be processed
  • Processing — Currently being sent to recipients
  • Sent — All messages delivered successfully
  • Partial — Some messages were delivered but others failed
  • Failed — The campaign could not be delivered

You can monitor delivery progress in the History tab.
